Asteroids

Asteroids are celestial bodies. Most come from the asteroid belt of course. But the entire asteroid belt’s mass is not even equal to 10% of the moon. Supposedly, dinosaurs died because of an asteroid. The asteroid that killed the dinosaurs and did a lot of damage and put so much debris from the explosion was thrown into the atmosphere, it severely altered the climate. Killing about 75% of life on Earth back then Asteroids may be smaller compared to the Earth, but they can do a lot of damage. The first asteroid to be discovered was called Ceres. Many asteroids are bodies that grew within the Sun’s solar nebula that never grew large enough to become a planet. Asteroids can vary a lot in size fro 1000 km to just one meter. Many asteroids have precious metals. So maybe one day we might mine on asteroids. Asteroids are very interesting
