Why no aliens? This is what the Fermi Paradox asks (After you oversimplify it, It actually asks if there are so many planets, shouldn't there be multiple intelligent life forms?)0 It was created by a guy named Fermi as you can probably figure out. (Enrico Fermi is his full name and he was involved with the atomic bomb. But I'm getting off-topic) But why are there no aliens? There are a lot of planets in just the milky way alone! Let alone the entire universe. Surely at least one alien civilization has interstellar travel and has contacted us. Yes, we should have been contacted a very long time ago. And intelligent life would also want to colonize other areas, so why haven’t we been colonized? Well, there are multiple theories. 1. It’s extremely rare. But there could possibly be extraterrestrial complex entities, but not smart enough to create a civilization. 3. There are, but they keep dying out quickly. Like a mass extinction or something like it. 3. There are, they just don’t have good enough tech for interstellar travel. 4. They don’t want to be spotted. Well, at least one extraterrestrial would try to communicate with us right? 5. Their goals are beyond our understanding. This one is kind of a continuation of the fourth theory. Most people don't know what other humans goals are. So how are we supposed to figure out the goals of another intelligent species which probably thinks very differently from us. But maybe we aren’t supposed to contact extraterrestrials.
